These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of heirloombooks.app and the book-building and ordering experience linked from it (together, the "Service"), operated by Heirloom Books ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
Heirloom Books lets you build a custom recipe book from your own recipes and photos, and order a professionally printed copy. Books are produced on demand by a third-party print partner once an order is placed.
Accounts
Some features let you save your work to an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account's been accessed without your permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of the recipes, photos, text, and anything else you upload or create using the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a license to use, reproduce, and display it solely to provide the Service to you — building, previewing, printing, and shipping your order.
You're responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the rights to use and submit it (for example, that a recipe or photo isn't someone else's copyrighted work you don't have permission to use), and that it doesn't violate any law or any third party's rights.
Orders, pricing, and payment
- Prices are shown in the Service before you check out, and may change at any time before an order is placed.
- Payment is processed by Stripe at the time of order. By placing an order, you authorize the charge for the full amount shown.
- Every book is produced specifically for you after you order — we don't keep standard inventory of printed books.
- We'll do our best to catch errors, but we're not liable for order errors caused by content, addresses, or selections you provided.
Shipping and production
Books are printed and shipped by our print-on-demand partner. Production and shipping times are estimates, not guarantees — they can vary based on order volume, your location, and the print partner's own schedule.
Returns and reprints
Because every book is custom-made for you, we generally can't accept returns for a correctly printed order that matches what you approved. If your book arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what you ordered (for example, missing or badly misprinted pages), contact us within 30 days of delivery at contact@heirloombooks.ai and we'll make it right with a reprint or refund, at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Please don't use the Service to:
- Upload content that's illegal, infringing, or that you don't have the right to use.
- Upload content that's obscene, hateful, or harassing.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service for any purpose other than creating and ordering your own book(s).
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.
Intellectual property
Other than Your Content, everything that makes up the Service — design, software, templates, text, and branding — belongs to Heirloom Books or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it outside of using the Service as intended.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers — including Stripe for payments and our print-on-demand partner for production and shipping. Their own terms may also apply to parts of your order.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heirloom Books won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service won't exceed the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
